This year, I got stuck having a layover in Detroit. I was more than a bit miffed since the overall trajectory of my travel was from L.A. to Florida and though I haven’t mapped it out, I’m pretty sure Michigan isn’t on the way. But, even though it was a red eye and I landed around 5am, I ended up not being disappointed because the Detroit airport is AWESOME. Recently opened, beautiful, clean, modern, shiny. I seriously wanted to spend my whole vacation here!
